The short version
There are no accounts. Your lease details and odometer readings stay in your browser. We don't have a copy.
What's stored in your browser
When you choose “Save on this device,” your lease terms and readings are saved in this browser's local storage. Anyone using this browser can see them. You can delete them any time from My tracker with “Clear data from this browser,” or by clearing your browser data.
Photo and screenshot readings
If you use a photo, your browser first re-encodes the image to remove location and camera metadata, then sends it to our server, which passes it to Anthropic (our AI processing provider) to find the odometer number. The image is processed in memory and discarded. We don't save it, log it, or put it in any storage. Anthropic processes it under its commercial API terms, which do not allow using it to train models.
Service providers
- Vercel hosts the website and keeps short-lived server logs. Our logs never include images, odometer values, or lease dates.
- Upstash stores counters used to limit photo-reading requests. These use a scrambled (hashed) identifier, never your IP address, and expire within two days.
- Anthropic reads the odometer from photos you choose to upload.
- PostHog receives anonymous usage events, such as “calculation completed,” with broad categories only. No mileage, dates, images, or typed text are sent.
Analytics
We measure whether people complete a calculation, save it, and come back, so we can decide whether to keep improving the product. Events use an anonymous ID stored in your browser. Session recording and automatic click tracking are off.
What we don't collect
No account, name, email, VIN, license plate, location, or driving routes.
